I have tried turning the Sign Language section on and off again but it makes no difference, I can't get rid of the annoying person

Hi @HughODonell I suspect you are viewing live Tv channels . The feature that EETV offer with toggle between sign language Off/On refers to on demand content,
Some programming on linear TV channels are broadcast with Sign Language in the broadcast - these are normally shown in the EPG guide with SL symbol, As the signing is included in the broadcast picture you won't be able to switch it off, but you may be able to find and play the equivalent programme on demand. without signing. The PSB broadcasters will have some signed programming at various times of the day.
EETv help page
https://ee.co.uk/help/tv-sport/manage-use/sign-language-ee-tv
so the benefit of setting Sign Language on is
Enabling this feature means that if a signed version of On Demand content is available, you'll be delivered the signed version of the programme.
