I moved from Sky to EE TV and am starting to think I have made a huge mistake. I have a few programmes that I watch regularly and so I tend to record series so I don’t miss any of the series. I have discovered today that one of these programmes has suddenly lost the series link and will only record when I click on record every day. Anyone have a fix for this please

Not HD - I assume as I don’t have an aerial then it would be IP Mode

As it is IP Mode that would need someone technical in EE to check.
My suspicion is that the football has triggered a human error somewhere along the line and that next week if you delete any Emmerdale entries for the schedule list and then recreate a fresh recording entry for Emmerdale then it could well start to behave itself.

I did wonder if that was the case because it used to be recorded every day. Thank you will do as you suggest when the football is finished.

@Moragws I've checked the data for Emmerdale on STV in IP mode and the series link is present and consistent. If you schedule the series now, there's no reason why it shouldn't record it again every day. I can't check historically for your box to see if it has changed since you set it unfortunately.

Thank you will find out when it is next on and set to record series and see what happens.
thank you fingers crossed

One observation is that Emmerdale seems to have some hour slots in the schedule recently rather than the normal 30 minutes. In some cases these might be planned hour long specials but according to a fan site
https://emmerdale.fandom.com/wiki/Episode_10608/10609_(6th_July_2026)
there have been examples of two planned episodes being merged into one single programme
So possibly episode 10608 and 10609 were originally due to be broadcast separately but the schedule changes for the FIFA tournament resulted in them being broadcast as a single item slot. (As ITV/STV are sharing coverage with BBC the actual games covered by each broadcaster are effectively decided on a round by round basis so most days programme schedules may need to be changed. at a day or a few days ahead - ie after the original days schedules have been loaded into the EPG.)

C@Moragws , if it is one of the soaps, then due to the World Cups, then the schedules do change and so do the programms, so I now check every time to make sure that it gets recorded, although mine is not the same one as your program., and I do not have EE TV, just freeview.

Yes I agree that checking is required as the broadcasters , the EPG providers and the timing of box receiving updates does seem to vary. From the available checks it does seem that in the example of Emmerdale the series link (CRID) for episodes to be identified as part of a series was maintained. What does seem to have occurred is that the scheduling of the start times and days individual episodes were broadcast has changed. The process should allow the data to be modified and pass thru to the user in sufficient time so that if one episode of a series rescheduled then the series link if invoked should pick up the next episode actually broadcast. (it may be that the Emmerdale scenario may have correctedi itself in the schedule if the user hadn't spotted the absence of the expected recording - but then the user action in adjusting to the EPG and scheduled recording list is very understanable)
For overrunning programming that can occur for example with the football and wimbledon coverage if say the BBC /ITV take a decision to delay/reschedule later programmes until it has concluded because they don't actually know how long that will take they often make more than one change to the schedule over a short timeframe,. (due to the time Emmerdale is normally scheduled this scenario is unlikely to affect its recordings)

@zulu17 < BBC certainly seem to change from showing on BBC1 to BBC2 and then, depending on the football and Wimbledon, programs can also change, so have to keep an eye on that as well.
