Samsung TV Not connecting to wifi

Please see below, intended to be sent to EE:

We have owned a Samsung smart TV for around five years and until 2 or three weeks ago it has worked flawlessly on our wifi connection. Initially we were with BT but, as you will be aware, we were transferred to EE a couple (?) of years ago . As far as we are concerned nothing else has changed in that time. The router (Smart Hub) and TV etc. are all in the same place. 2-3 weeks ago the TV lost connection with the router and despite our best efforts including a factory reset on the TV it failed to regain that connection. However, we found a temporary solution by inserting a Roku stick into a HDMI port and this worked very well. So, we drew the conclusion that the TV was faulty and had it repaired (under warranty) when the internet module and the main “board” were replaced. As part of the procedure we turned the router off and back on again and the TV successfully connected to our wifi. However, since then it has resumed its habit of losing the wifi connection and the only way we can re-establish the connection is to turn the router off and on again which is far from satisfactory and probably not good for the router either. Thus, the Roku stick has been brought back into play and, as before, works very well.

So….. can you advise? Has some sort of software change been made to the router remotely? Is there something we can do here?

@NDW57 If it's working fine with the Roku stick then that's the way to do it!

The Roku is only a workaround for no apparent reason.

Older or weaker devices may not be compatible with the default WiFi settings of EE Smart Hubs. Try setting up Compatible WiFi on the router under Advanced > Wireless Settings > Config > Compatible WiFi (it defaults to 2.4 GHz & WPA2) & connect your problematic 2.4 GHz devices to that.
