Is anyone else having similar problems? The picture quality watching programmes on Channel 4 on demand is terrible. It's nowhere near HD.
Live TV on channel 4 and recordings of channel 4 are fine, but on demand is rubbish!

It's down to Channel 4 to update their youview app for HD, as it's a separate app from what's available in google and apple app stores.

I've only just got my EE TV today and couldn't believe how poor the quality was when I started watching channel 4 on demand!

I’ve just checked this, and Channel 4 On Demand looks just as good as live and recorded. on my Box Pro, and as good live or On Demand an the LG 48” OLED C2 I’m checking on.
But I do have Channel Four +, and maybe that’s better.

You need new glasses @Midnight_Voice
🤣
Channel 4+ delivers HD and advert free, but even with the subscription I have never managed to get HD out of the EE TV app, same with itvX.
It makes both a poor experience on the Pro Box. Why should you pay and only get half of the benefits? The watchlist is a great idea but no point paying for premium and then using EE TV to watch in lower quality.
They both work as expected on the Apple TV 4K.

Should have gone to Specsavers? 😛
Funnily enough, I have new glasses from them as of April, and I had my eyesight checked again last Monday, annnual screening, and it was ‘pretty good’.
So, Channel Four from the app on the Box Pro, watching On Demand, and looking where, to see that it’s not receiving HD?
And what resolution set on the Box Pro? I’ve been using UHD 10 bit, so letting the box upscale; because one of the problems here is not just what Channel Four send out, but what the Box Pro does with the signal to fill a UHD screen, so better we both let the box upscale than maybe accidentally including scaling differences from our respective TVs.
The Box Pro is coupled to an LG C2 OLED here, 48 inch, though I can try it on our 65 inch LG GX OLED as well, if merited.
I’ll give it a go tomorrow if you can kindly give me the recipe to use.

Only ever use the box on 1080p output as TNT Sport Ultimate and iPlayer still switch to UHD as required. I don’t use any of the other apps on the box.
The TV will report whatever output you set the box to, but my eyes tell me there is no way the Channel 4 app delivers HD, regardless of what the box is set to output.
Tested on an LG OLED and much cheaper LG LCD TV. When you have the premium version that removes ads and watch on a different device like the TV itself or an Apple TV 4K, you can see the difference, as can my Wife, who is the final judge in these matters!
As I said, I hope it changes, the watchlist is useful and being able to use it with itv and Channel 4 content in HD and ad free when paying for premium features helps to negate the limited recording slots in internet mode.

The great thing about this Community is that you can post images at whatever resolution they were taken at; compressing screenshots for the BT Community blurs everything (literally).
Which LG TVs have you got? Besides the OLEDs , I have a 2020 43” Nano I can use; hopefully, we have similar devices if the LGs are to do the upscaling.
I’ll take and post some pictures, and you and your wife can pick out what device they came from, if that’s a fair test,

I do not currently have Channel 4+, just put the box back in 4K UHD and put on the F1 qualifying highlights, PQ is awful.
Pixelated and worse than SD.
Pointless…

I think i watch calmer programmes than you, where the bit rate can keep up 😛
But yes, appalling PQ from the Box Mini on the 66” LG GX OLED, pixelation all over the intro to Qualifying.
The GX doesn’t have the Channel Four app, but I keep a Roku Express 4K to cover that. The quality of the same programme on that is nothing to write home about, but there wasn’t a sniff of pixelation.
But here’s a screenshot from my trusty T4000, same TV as above; same diabolical badness as the later boxes, so it’s not just the new ones.
And here’s what the Roku Express 4K makes of the same moment:-
And the Box Pro? Looks a bit better on the 48” C2, but still not remotely on a par with the Roku:-
‘Nuff said, case proven.
