For anyone interested - bit of progress - channel names have appeared on the test multicast streams I spotted a few weeks ago (they were blank before).

Currently showing 4 labels;

  • Sky Sports 1 HDR UHD
  • Sky Sports 2 HDR UHD
  • Sky Sports Main Event HDR UHD
  • Sky Sports F1 HDR UHD

Wonder how long till we get them.

Keep wondering! I have a feeling we won’t know for sure until it happens.

You’re more likely to see a comment here than something official from their communications team - at least at first. They’ve pushed back launch dates before because things weren’t ready… managing expectations is easy when you just say ‘soon’.

They’re also having to work with Sky, which likely complicates the process.

Keep an eye on the software version of your EE box. As mentioned before, this apparently needs to be updated. That might be some indication it’s not far off.

@DarrenDev Are you able to give us any clues as to why a software update is required? TNT’s UHD channels are already there. The test streams look identical to TNT, same format, encryption, profile etc - is there a difference in how they’re delivered?

@SwannyD2 the software update isn't for the multicast channels - they're all the same as normal.  The fix is for the Now TV app to work correctly, and it's between Sky and YouView directly - we don't have access to see the details.

Do we have an ETA? I'd love to upgrade so I can watch the Prem in glorious 4K :🙂

Ah yes, of course. That came to mind later.

I forgot about YouView’s involvement. Maybe it’ll be ready for the 2026 season? 🤓

how do you see this?

Not really one for a network novice, but happy to share…

It’s only real use is to see the raw multicast addresses for channels that have not been added to the EPG yet.

I like your optimism 😉

hello. Are we talking weeks or months for this to be introduced?
