Now TV on Apple TV

Hi All,

In future I will start every post by saying, I share the following only to support in future development and to help with continual improvement. This is because I am very happy with my EE TV and still fully recommend it to others. Any thing I raise here does not change this.

I currently have Apple TV 4K with EE TV as my main box and an EE Mini TV box as my secondary box.

So the latest thing that I am noticing on the Apple TV set up is that the volume on the NOW TV App is lower than the other apps. I can not find any settings in the Now TV app to adjust this. Is this an issue with the Now TV app itself, which I should contact Sky about or is this an issue with the install specifically for EE TV for Apple TV 4K? The difference is about 15 on my TV. E.g all apps are on about 18 on my TV but Now TV needs to be on about 32. I have an LG TV with and LG Sound. Bar connected via digital audio directly to the TV. The new Apple TV 4K as no digital audio socket on it. The sound bar changes volume automatically alongside the tv. Eg when I turn the tv up it turns the to speakers and sound bar up at the same time in equal portions. I am wondering if the Now TV is not supporting the sound bar? Hence the TV speakers need to do all the work.

Thanks

Neil

The Now TV app on the Apple TV is directly from Sky, so you'd need to speak to them (it's the same app you'd get on a non-EE Apple TV).

I have the same issue - I watch in the EE TV app with the volume at 30 on my TV, but I had to turn the volume up to around 70 when watching House of the Dragon.  This was on a Sony TV, with no external sound system.

Thanks Darren,

Super annoying that some of my biggest annoyances about the usability of the whole setup are out of EE’s control. If the app developers would sort these out it would make for such a better journey for EE TV customers.

1. Now TV volume issue. Apple TV 4K

2. Now TV “continue watching” list disappears and have to force close app and re-open it to get it back. Apple TV 4K

3. There is live tv option on the ITV app. EE Mini Box.

The final one being the most annoying. If you get to the mini to box just after something starts on ITV you are stuffed as it will not show up on catch up for a while and you can’t start it from the bringing on the mini box and no live in ITV app. Where as with the BBC iPlayer you can click green to launch it from the begging in iPlayer or just launch iPlayer and go to live tv.

I know these issues are not in EE TV developers control but are still messing with the EE TV experience.

My LG TVs offer Sound/Advanced Settings/Automatic Volume Adjustment to try to keep a consistent volume level across all input audio.

Is it worth you having a look to see if your TV offers the same or similar, and turning it on?
