Now TV Boost Ultra - is this available on EE

Just bought a new tv and wanted to watch sky sports on ultra HD (via Now TV)

Spoke to someone at EE and they said I was paying for the UHD package, but the UHD channels are not available on the guide.  When I go to the Now TV app, I can see that my viewing experience is set up as "boost" rather than "boost ultra". Spoke to a bot at Now TV and they said its down to EE, but the person at EE didn't see how this could be upgraded.

I don't know if there is something more wrong with EEs infrastructure on UHD for Sky Sports. Hoping someone here will know more.

I can see i have access to TNT Ultimate HDR though.

I think this is what they're trying for:

Which doesn't appear to be going too well .....

If they do get round to offering it - will they a cost issue.

NOW charges extra for their ultra package, so will charge EE for each customer accessing UHD content on the NOW TV platform.

As an EE TV customer, I have already signed up to and am paying for a UHD package with costs already set for the next 2 years (including an agreed uplift in March each year)

Potentially two routes that could take either:

  • EE eat the additional cost for those that are paying or have an included Combo HD/4K Add-on on their package (this provides HD for NOW through their Boost and 4K for TNT Sports) to allow them to have Ultra Boost included. The more unlikely option in my opinion.

OR

  • A new add-on is launched by EE instead of or in addition to the Combo HD/4K add-on as an upgrade for customers who want 4K on NOW content.

Entirely speculation but i would imagine it will be done in one of these ways.

Another Sky mover that has fallen into the trap of deliberate misinformation about the offering regarding 4K and Sky Sports.

Lets be clear for anyone who hasn't had access to it recently, Sky UHD has matured in the last year. There is content for Football, Cricket, Golf, Tennis, Darts etc. It isn't just the detail, it's the much more vibrant colour.

Both in the advertising and in my calls there was nothing to explicitly exclude Sky Sports from the 4K service. Basically I am now stuck with everyone else waiting for this to be fixed. Yes as far as I am concerned it is broken.

I may not now be a direct Sky customer with a dish and a million channels I don't need but I am still very much a Sky customer so for *&%@s sake please fix this urgently.

Your wasting your breath i am afraid.

Eetv is a shambles . They have been saying its coming for Over a year along with changing packages online for over 2 years.

My advise go back to sky you dont realise what you had untill you move to ee . I was sucked in and lasted 6 months so i paid up and went straight back

Same thing happened to me. When I signed up I was told I was getting 4K UHD, I did try and chase it up further but I've had other issues since with EE refusing to pay termination charges from my previous provider which is a whole other saga.
