Just bought a new tv and wanted to watch sky sports on ultra HD (via Now TV)
Spoke to someone at EE and they said I was paying for the UHD package, but the UHD channels are not available on the guide. When I go to the Now TV app, I can see that my viewing experience is set up as "boost" rather than "boost ultra". Spoke to a bot at Now TV and they said its down to EE, but the person at EE didn't see how this could be upgraded.
I don't know if there is something more wrong with EEs infrastructure on UHD for Sky Sports. Hoping someone here will know more.
I can see i have access to TNT Ultimate HDR though.

Having worked on literally hundreds of IT projects over the years I can say with some confidence that if there was a genuine appetite for this to be delivered it would've been by now.

Despite your confidence, you're wrong. I'll not say anymore, for risk of getting in trouble.

There is no application/solution/platform/infrastructure that couldn't be upgraded (or even replaced) in the time the "order system upgrade" reason has been used, assuming it has the appropriate funding and priority. EE and NOW could've both implemented brand new order management systems in that time

You are 100% right its laughable the excuses over and over again really in this day and age ? Do you think sky would take this long ? For example changing packages online ? Its been going on for over 2 years rather embarressing i find it.

That's even more ridiculous as you actually could do that via BT (I was migrated at last renewal).

It is a difficult one to believe - but I don't doubt (and I appreciate) the honesty here from @DarrenDev . Looking over a range of threads on this forum it does looks like EE have some significant issues that they're really struggling to resolve. The new system appears to have been built but is riddled with bugs and simply isn't reliable enough for real world use.
It's pretty awful that we still can't upgrade to Now UHD - but as far as I'm aware if you take the EE 1.6GB service as a new customer you can't order TV at all - because the new EE ordering system doesn't support that. It all points to a real mess on EE's side.
And it all looks pretty pointless and a problem of BT / EE's own making. Because it looks to me like customers have been migrated from a stable ordering system (BT) to one that doesn't work (EE). I mean ...... why?!

They EE Then should just come out and say its a right old balls up on our part then instead of the same old feable excuses theyve used for the last 2 years that includes darren.
We are not stupid enough to believe them.

I can't say I've looked at much else on this forum other than this 4k thing and happy to take your word for it. However, that is absolutely appalling. This is not a complicated ordering system (I've worked at several large retailers). There are very few options and variables. Did they outsource it to Fujitsu?

I think the excuse that DarrenDev has used, for a long time now, is that the ordering system isn't ready. I guess it's a case of either accepting that's the reason, or not accepting it.
I do though object to the 'coming soon' stuff that we've been told. There have been too many vague statements from quite a few of the mods on here saying it's coming soon, but giving no indication of why it's not already available. I much prefer something along the lines of: we'd love to offer it now; but we're having to build a new ordering system from scratch; we've hit some major problems; and have no idea when those problems will be resolved. Which I think Darren has got pretty close to.

But for this long sorry it just shouldnt be happening in these times
