I see the below on the BT website under the further information details at the bottom of the TV package page with regards to a no frills TV option, but this is not widely advertised elsewhere.

Is it a mistake that needs rectifying?

"No Frills – Up to 94 free-to-air channels. 7 days of catch-up through your TV guide. The latest movies to buy or rent in the EE TV Player. Pause, record and rewind these channels on your EE TV set top box. 12-month minimum term"

Can you please try again now @minesabud - your TV account wasn't properly associated with your broadband on our system, so the TV Box couldn't find your account.  It should work now.

No, it's not an error.

So do you need to ask specifically when you call?

Correct, but you're basically paying a subscription just to have a TV Box with no subscriptions.

Would be handy as an option for customers etc that just want a basic recording box for free to air channels who don't want to pay £250 for a retail alternative one up front, so might be worth considering advertising in future so that all potential customer market segments are catered for.

Or even an edge box to try and offer an alternative to a Freely streaming box.

Hi! I have a no frills TV package and EE TV Pro box, but it won't let me "sign in" to buy any films etc. Shows an error code BTP-15001 with "We're having some trouble loading the EE TV. Please try later" I've been trying (and paying a monthyl fee) for over a month!!

Wow, that sounded too easy, thanks! I've been right through the formal complaints process and no-one has managed to sort this. I'm away from home at present so will check this on my return in a few weeks.

No problem.  If you have any further issues with it, send me an email at [email protected] and I can get some more specific details from you.

Is it possible to get the 'no frills' package on an Apple TV? I'm a big fan of the Apple TV as a streamer and have all the main streaming apps on it. It would be great to add the freeview channels. I know i can use the TV Launcher app, but that simply launches  other apps, and would prefer a single app with EPG.
