Hi All
Yesterday I had an innocuous message telling me to upgrade my tv software. I accepted the recommended action and thought no more of it.
I came home especially at 9 o'clock to watch the second half football and when I entered in channel 431 it took me to 555, my EE Sports and Sky Now had vanished. I went to tech support they had all gone home. I chatted with a bot you told me someone would be with me in ten minutes, I discontinued the conversation after 30 when no one turned up, but let my dissatisfaction be known.
Then surprise surprise, was all sorted this morning. Why, what had happened, and no apology?
Then I find I cannot even get to email a complaint - my daughter is right Sky Glass here I come - assuming that this failure to deliver a service is a breach of contract on the part of EE / BT.
Any one else similarly hacked off?
Tony

Hi @tonytog
it sounds like the EETV update did not leave your box in the correct state ( on Thursday ?).
The fact that it appeared in a workable state on (Friday ?) morning suggests that the correct configuration and subscription channels were loaded when the box connected with the EETV/Youview servers (overnight). I suspect that these checks are still typically done daily if the box is in smart standby mode. So on the one hand it has autocorrected itself but of course you have been deprived of your service for a day.
Normally restarting the box by pressing and holding the EE ( or BT if older box) button on the box would initiate a check and update of the subscription channels list at that time rather than await the overnight process. A power off of the box and a subsequent powering up again should also initiate this check as part of the startup process.
Did you happen to do either of the above ?
