Been with Sky for 20 plus years and paying for the privilege, made a snap decision which is very unlike me, I can cope with a change with the OS / Interface, however I was told when I ordered, told when enquiring in store and it was repeated in store today that I cannot record on the mini box ( I can live with that) but I can watch recorded content on My Tv, been on hold for 50 minutes only to be told yes I am correct you cannot record and no you are not correct that you can watch items in My Tv, in fact they just don't appear, I'm now in a position Sat in the back room while the kids have primacy and I'm left with whatever I can find and can't watch what I have recorded. Personally a backward step and worst of all, just about everyone says it can be done, but alas not, feeling a fad let down and mis-sold. Anyone else had the same experience?

@Chowy Hi. Like you I recently switched from Sky and tbh so pleased that I did.
You can record on the EE TV pro box. If you are connected in internet mode you can record up to 2 programmes simultaneously and watch others on Demand. If you want to watch live TV while recording you can only record one programme at that time. If you are connected in aerial mode the number of programmes you can record simultaneously increases to 4.
To record a programme first you need to find it on the EPG. Highlight the programme and then press the red button with the R on it on your remote. You will then be given the option to record just the programme or the series.
Once you have done this if you go to the My TV Rail and press select. You can then see a list of all programmes you have already recorded and are available to view, a list of all programmes that you have scheduled to record and lastly a list of programmes that you have added to your Watchlist to view via On Demand.
Hope that helps

How exactly have the kids got primacy?
Watching stuff they have recorded on the Pro box?
Hogging the main TV?
As long as it’s just the latter, and they aren’t actually watching recordings they have made, swap the mini box in for them, and have the Pro box in the back room.
There should be nothing they want to do that they can’t still do on the mini box, in those circumstances.

I'm thinking you're issue is, that you've likely recorded something on the main box, and you now want to watch it back on the mini box?
You can do that with SkyQ on their mini boxes.
Are you saying EE TV won't allow that?
Thus the only room you can watch recordings, is the room with the main box?

Yes, that’s how it works (or rather, doesn’t).
IIRC, it’s technically possible, but the broadcasters won’t allow it.

Yep that's it, it seems a backward step, I can however stream on the mini box , but can't watch what I've got on the my tc rail.even though the store say I can and on line sales. It's still reasonably new and I'm sure in future this may appear, but it can't be that difficult. First world problems lol

I'm a soon to be leaving Sky Q customer, have been with sky 22 years, and with 3 additional mini boxes, I'm hoping this won't cause me too much of an issue either.
Ideally it'll be updated functionality at some point in time.

The ability to watch recordings from your TV Box Pro is almost certainly never going to happen. Broadcasters would prefer you use their catch up services.
We have discussed the idea of sharing the My TV rail between boxes, where on other boxes it would link to the catch up instead. I don't know if it'll happen though.
The My TV section of the EE TV app is shared between all devices, so if you're watching anything in there, you can continue on any other device.
Please also note that you're limited to 2 additional boxes - 3 in total.

Please don’t waste any time on this, the EE TV Pro box catch up apps cannot deliver content in the same quality as a recorded broadcast.
Complaints would inevitably roll in over the inability to skip adverts, the lack of HD and 5.1.
As someone who will likely never take an Apple TV 4K from EE, I would rather the focus was on getting more usable versions of itvX and Channel 4 on board the standard hardware. Versions that are found on most other devices can deliver HD and respect a premium subscription. Then enable the watch list to sync across all pro and mini boxes.
Besides, any Apple TV 4K owner can already track catch up viewing on most apps through the Apple TV+ app even without a subscription. I know you want them in the EE TV app, but they don’t need to be in the EE TV app.
