New EE TV service on Apple TV

I understand the new EE TV Service has just been launched, including via a customised EE Apple TV 4K box. I currently have Sky Stream so EE TV via an Apple TV box is a. good proposition. It would be great to hear reviews of the service via Apple TV from those who are early adopters of the service (I assume some trials must have taken place too)

@DarrenDev  seems to be gone, though his handle lives on 😢

EETV AppleTV boxes are specially registered to EETV, and come with a different remote from standard AppleTV boxes.  With an EETV subscription, you can have one of them OR a Box Pro, and with either, you can also have a Box Mini. And you can, at extra cost, have a further Box Mini; but that’s your lot.

You can load the EETV app onto an ordinary AppleTV box, but it will only have a very small subset of facilities; not what you want.

However, the Box Mini is practically the same as the EETV app that you get on the EETV AppleTV. So use a Box Mini alongside your ordinary AppleTV, and you will, with only slight inconvenience, have all the features you desire*.

*There may be some exceptions, that other posters will point out, but I can’t think of any offhand…

@Midnight_Voice inactive, but keeping the profile to prevent anyone stealing it before I return to EE in 2025.

(I correctly only read posts I'm tagged in).

It's not something that can be "fixed" - it's a licensing restriction that is unlikely to change before 2028.

@DarrenDev

Well, there’s a preannouncement I thoroughly approve of - what a lovely Christmas present for us all! 🎄🎅🏻🎁
