Netflix thinks I'm in Argentina when using EE Mobile Broadband.

Couple of questions here, first off, nothing has changed my end, same Set Up and Router etc, But when ever I log in or use Netflix over the last few days, Netflix seems to believe I'm in Tucuman, Argentina, apart from lot of the Content is now in Spanish, I'm also getting some snotty emails from Netflix quoting to me a new Device has Signed In to your Account in Argentina with a Warning saying only people in your Household are allowed to use your Account.?

The other thing I've noticed at the same time (could be coincidence), is when ever I do a Speed Test now (Ookla) this now shows the ISP as BT where it's always shown the ISP Provider as EE?

Hi @EssexBoyEE,

Are you using a VPN?

Is this over fixed or mobile broadband?

Does restarting your router resolve the issue?

Any issues with any other streaming services?

James

Hi James, No VPN involved, have donee a few Router restarts and and a Full Factory Reset, no change, other Video Streamers work fine, including Prime and TV iPlayers etc.

This is using EE Sim Data, ISP location is reported as Central London but Netflix Account (provided via EE Service) is showing in Argentina and is now in Full Spanish.

Only other weired one is it's showing as BT as the ISP on Speed Tests all my other Devices / EE Sims show as ISP as EE?

Will try deleting All my Devices on the Netflix Account and start over again.

Let us know if that works @EssexBoyEE

It's also worth checking if you see the same issue when using another EE connection (Such as your phone's hotspot)

I just started getting a similar issue last night on 5g broadband. Speedtests etc now show BT where it showed EE the day before (5th Dec) and my speeds have dropped from over 200mb to 30-50.

Location bounces around between Wales and Scotland at the minute , my mobile Sim shows EE so EE are definitely doing something in the background on mobile broadband!!!

Ive updated the router profile to IPv4 only or Ipv6 only and it makes no difference.

Are you also experiencing issues with Netflix @Farmer99?

James

@EssexBoyEE are you also posting on these forums with the same IP?  If so, all major location providers correctly report it as being in the UK.  It's worth contacting Netflix support to ask why your country has changed - they're generally very good at replying.

Currently Yes, IP ending. xxxx xxxx. 191.

The only other thing I have to do is to force the Gateway to IPV4 Only, as Netflix and a few other Streamers do not seem to work at all on EEs IPV6.

Send Netflix a message then, and let us know what they say.  It could be a fault on their side, or maybe someone else is using your account (although that wouldn't normally switch the country for all sessions - only those active in other countries).

I havent tried Netflix to be fair but as its not outside the UK i wouldn't expect so
