Losing connection

I have had eetv for nearly a year. Set up is 6 router and pro hub and one mini hub.
always had a bit of a problem with buffering even though the router and main hub are within 5 m. Changed the energy saving settings and this seemed to largely solve the problem but not completely. Now mini hub works for fine for an hour or so and then drops out with message saying there is a problem connecting to channel. A reboot solves it for a bit then drops again.

it is getting annoying and frustrating. Any ideas pmease

The power settings don't do anything to the cache - they just control when the device goes into deep sleep, to reduce power consumption.  It has no impact on the performance or behaviour of the device when it's not in deep sleep.

I've checked a few times and haven't yet managed to catch one of the short periods where you have it online, to be able to check how good the signal is.  If it's weak, then extending the wifi would help.

Hi @Amg22

Do you experience the same issue if you test the Mini using an ethernet cable connection rather than WIFI?

Hi there,

I haven’t tried. It would be quite inconvenient to use a cable and that would seem to defeat the object of having wifi!

Your TV Box Edge is showing that it has a good signal, and hasn't reported any signal issues in the last 7 days.

Your TV Box Pro is currently showing as offline so I cannot check the signal strength, however it has reported multiple signal issues in the last 7 days. You've said that it's within 5 metres, but could anything be blocking it?  Is it hidden inside or behind anything that could be blocking signal?

Thanks for getting back so quickly.

The TV box pro is offline as I have altered the power settings (to eco?) to clear the cache which I thought may be causing the buffering. It largely seems to have worked but there are still occasions when buffering happens. There simply an internal wall between the router and box but it does have a door, nearly always open,.
The same applies to the edge box, bu the distance is greater.
I was wondering whether getting wifi extender units might help?
