If you’re an EE TV customer with EE Broadband, you can now get HD included as part of our sports channels packages. This would have previously been charged an extra £6 for the HD addon.
For existing customers, you’ll need to flex to the new version of your package to get this benefit. If you’re on a discounted offer, you may be better off staying with the current set up until your discount period ends.

What I think has occured here is .
According to
On 13th December 2024 a new price plan was issued which show the (standard) price for EETV Sport and Big Sport changing to £23 and £48 per month. This I believe is a £3 increase on the price that was listed in the previous price plan (15th November). This coincides with EE promoting "inclusive HD" on 13th December. One concern from looking at the 13th December price plan is that it doesn't specify that HD is "included" in that plan rather it remains as "Yes" for the Sport and Big Sport plans. That implies that you are getting it included as part of an offer during the minimum period but it would be chargeable thereafter if you didn't take a further contract. Perhaps though EE have simply omitted to change Yes to included for the relevant packages.
If you are on an existing EE TV flexible package when you flex you would normally move from your current package (with any reduced pricing offers) to the "current" standard price for the package you move to but as you flexed your minimum contract period remains the same. You may be offered or seek a better price/deal for changing your EE TV package but that would normally mean starting a new minimum (24 month) term for your EETV (and consequently your broadband) contract.

Thank you for the detailed response it is appreciated. I shall stay as I am then as the whole issue is as clear as mud, I was very surprised when signing up in October that SD was still an option.

SD remains an option as EETV provide both SD and HD linear channels of the TNT Sports and NOW and Discovery subscription channels. EETV still has a lot of legacy TV boxes that it provides subscription services on slower (BT/EE) broadband connections so currently seems to want to charge a premium for HD channels. Already it is brief existence EETV has a lot of different packages and I suspect that will continue.
We still await the introduction of the NOW Ultra Boost onto EE and what their order and charging process will be.
Other considerations that existing subscribers need to factor in is that NOW Boost is itself variable depending upon when it was taken out and also that TV Addons may be subject to price changes whereas the ETTV Annual Price Changes at 31st March state the standard contracted price increases for the TV package itself.

Will HD automatically apply to Now Entertainment add on if I have Big Sport as base package?

Hey there @AamirArrar 😊
From what I understand, if you were to go for Big Sport as your base package, you get the Sport channels and regular channels in HD, but this wouldn't extend to the NOW channels.
The NOW Entertainment pack includes the NOW channels in standard definition, but the presence of Big Sport wouldn't unlock the HD versions.

That seems like very broken system then. Big Sport would include Sky Sports channels (from NOW) in HD by costing £3 extra in the original price and would need to buy Boost separately (another £6) if want to watch Now entertainment channels in HD.

My interpretation differs . The Now Boost would apply to all the NOW memberships included in your TV package including those added onto to your base package. The Now Boost is applied at NOW account level not at individual Now membership level.
So if you had Now boost on your NoW sports membership and added to the same account entertainment membership then it should be enabled on that as well.

But does the new included HD with Big Sports means Boost applied to the NOW Sports package? Or is this HD separate from the Boost?

@AamirArrar The announcement says in the “What Will I get” section that yes with this BIG Sports package you will get Now Boost as well as HD (EPG) benefits.

Absolutely mental we have to pay £6 to upgrade to HD anyway. HD is bog standard these days. Fair enough if it was £6 to 4K but no.
