I know there have been previous post on this but Im a novice and don't understand half of them
Recently left virgin for EE wifi and went for full fibre 500. The speeds are great but have a big house so previously used Google wifi mesh which worked really well and still does, except for the live tv function on eetv box pro. Is there a work around for this? All the apps work fine etc. live tv does work fine going through the EE router but it's too far away so not an option in my house unfortunately.
Is it possible to get a booster just for the TV as I don't really want to disconnect the million other Google devices I have🙊?

You either need to get the Google mesh configured to pass multicast and do IGMP Snooping to EETV’s standards; or to get a repeater from EE that you can set to a different SSID, and link the EETV kit to that SSID, or get a modern pair of PowerLine adapters to create a virtual ‘Ethernet cable’ between the EETV device and the EE router.
Please note with the repeater fix that may not be enough is the Google mesh still floods the house with multicast.
I will summon someone who knows what he’s talking about though, @naylor2006 , as mostly, I just bluff 😛

Does the Google MESH Support the tasks required for Multicast TV?....., I'm not sure, I dont know which model you have and it doesnt seem that clear from a quick look online if Google MESH does support it.
Any WIFI repeater is likely to suffer the same fate.
I dont recommend it but what you could do is get a couple of Powerline adapters, connect the outbound EETV port on the router to one and then connect the EETV box to the other one which of course will be close to your TV setup. This way the multicast traffic will pass through a singular 'ethernet' path to the EETV, this will get around the distance issue however Powerline are a wild beast and may not work consistently depending on 4000 different factors, which you can google 🙂
Alternatively if one of the Google Mesh Units is close enough to the EETV that an ethernet cable could be run from it to the EETV, then connect this google Mesh unit to a switch that supports IGMP snooping and then connect the EETV box to that, that may work. However this is still not great because the rest of the network behind this point will be flooded with multicast everytime you watch TV, so it pains me to say it but Powerline might be your best option aside from biting the bullet and running a long ethernet cable all the way to the router.

- Two-factor authentication using an EE mobile number is flawed in Security
- ZTE MC88 5G - Stopped working in Mobile Broadband
- EETV taking ages to load on Apple TV in TV
- 4G LTE router - MR600 - cannot route IPv4 from local net on IPv4+IPv6 profile in Mobile Broadband
- I have been unable to manage my EeTv from the app for at least a week it has bee in TV
