Factory reset of TV Box Pro

When I first set up my hub and TV box back in January 2024 the instructions were ambiguous (EE support acknowledged this). As a result I didn't set it up to use Freeview via the aerial and have regretted it ever since because I lost PBS America and Talking Pictures TV. Having made a number of recordings I didn't want to lose I just sucked it up. It was also a bummer not having access to four tv tuners.

More recently I've been obsessing about these lost channels and after much deliberating decided to do a factory reset after making a list of all the films and programmes I want to watch - most available on catchup or classic movie channels.

I've searched this forum and done many searches and the prevailing view is still that you lose all your recordings if you do a factory reset. Also that it would require signing back into all your apps, such as Netflix, Apple+ etc.

The good news though is that when you first set up the tv box again it asks if you want to keep all your recordings, and then after the setup I tried all the apps and there was no need to input any passwords. In other words it was very easy and entirely painless, the only small fly in the ointment is hiding all the channels I don't want in the EPG.

I hope this helps many members of the community.

Thanks for that. I've spent a considerable amount of time searching and researching and there was no mention of the new option. I assume it is a very recent update to the software. Deffo worth sharing.

Just a small correction. I tried the Netflix app and was already signed in and assumed it would be the same with all the others. However, that isn't the case and I've had to sign in one by one. It is easy though by using a browser on your computer or tablet which generates a code. It's the same for each of the apps - Prime Video, iPlayer, Discovery+ etc etc.
