EETV packages as of 3rd Sept 2026

Any one able to clarify the changes to EETV packages that appear to have been introduced today in the  revised 3rd September 2026 issue 

of the 

EE Broadband, TV and Home Phone price plans

Just seen this today as am renewing shortly.

So there is a major hardware difference between entertainment and entertainment plus. The basic entertainment is a new box called edge which has no recording facility?  Does this mean if i choose entertainment at renewal i will need to

1. send my old recordable tv box pro back and get a new edge box or

2. will the recording facility on the tv box pro be disabled or

3. will everything carry on as normal with the recording box for those with this facility currently

@NK20026  Who’s service does that belong too.  It’s called. Now Ultraboost.   EE can’t offer something that they have no legal right to offer.      EE can’t offer services just because you want it, the owner of the service has to give permission for any 3rd party to sell or offer their services.

@Chris_B the issue is purely technical. We have permission to sell, however it requires changes to our ordering system that have been "in progress" for over 2 years. 🤷🏼

@Dephead2004 the restrictions are only on new accounts. You'll be able to keep your current box, regardless of the package you choose.

So just to double check, the operation of the eetv box pro which i already borrow on my existing contract will not be deprecated to non recording by any means.

The follow on question then is if no HBO Max in entertainment can we still watch it via Now Entertainment cast from the Now App. Apparently The Pitt is a must have!

Sorry, just to be thick, what am I missing? [using list prices and ignoring any grandfathering deals].

I currently have TNT Sports and the "free channels" on an Apple box, which comes to just over £26 for me.

In the future will I not need TNT Sport at £25 plus the base package at £17 to replicate this? As I can see it, TNT Sport is either an add-on to broadband and as such quoted as either being on Sky or HBO Max, or as an add-on to the other TV packages.

If I just take TNT, I lose the "free channels" [and the box].

@Dephead2004 I'm awaiting confirmation on the Now Cinema thing, but I'm 99% sure that PDF that is wrong.

The functionality of the TV Box Pro will not be reduced if you're on a lower tariff - all features (including recordings) will continue to work.

The Entertainment package doesn't include any access to HBO Max content - either in the NOW app, or the HBO Max one.  Anything under the HBO Max tab will become unavailable.

(and yes - I'm just finishing season 2 of The Pitt.  Very addictive, and not at all what I expected).

@Richardr66 without sharing too much about your account on here - you have the Sports package and then also pay for the HD add-on.  HD is included as standard now.  The broadband package you're on is also now cheaper.

The EE TV Sport package includes the Freeview channels, so there's no extra charge on top.  The "base package" (Entertainment) is if you want just Freeview plus NOW Entertainment channels.

Thanks. It is me not realizing what the Sport package was.
