Should have known better to change from Sky to EE at this crucial time with the football reaching a climax, the tv box refuses to talk to our router and customer services are offering me a 45 minutes plus wait, to talk to someone

I'm sorry you've had this problem at such a crucial time during the football game. I very much understand how frustrating this must have been for you. 

Has your EE TV been working previously and stopped during the game? Did you get any error messages? 

Also, did any other device disconnect from the WiFi at the same time?
