Hi all.
Just migrated to EE in full from BT, I currently have the BT TV Box Pro which I know is still EETV, point is I use my own IR remote for it because I use surround sound. The shipped remote has no way to control the volume on a AR, at least it didnt a year or so back. I found out on the BT forums that the old codes for youview boxes worked when configuring a 3rd party IR based remote, this is great because it means I can control my AV and BT Pro Box from one remote.
Soooo, the question is, the EETV Box Pro is likely to be the same right? IE it can use a correctly coded IR remote?
Is there any difference in the boxes at all other than chassis?
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Yes - an IR remote from any YouView box will work with the TV Box Pro and TV Box Mini.

Oh hello Darren, good to see you are still around, it was you who recommended we move to EE in full to ensure we get access to ultraboost when it is available, I was miffed at the time because I couldnt move as I was so early in my BT contract....but as its still not live yet seems I have been able to move before missing out 🙂
Thanks mate.
You might also be able to answer my question over in billing 😛

@naylor2006 Normally if you already have a Box Pro with BT you would not be sent a new Box Pro upon moving companies to EE. You should of course be sent a Box Mini if you are entitled to and claim free extra box under your new EE contract.

ahh okay, I am happy to keep the BT Box Pro, saves sending it back.

Confirmed - no new TV box is being sent. The only thing headed your way is an EE Smart Hub Plus.

Thanks Darren, this is even better news, I literally have to do nothing. Been a very seamless transition so far.
