Hi
I've got the entertainment package. Today I upgraded to boost to get the channels in HD
My question is why isn the discovery channel upgraded? Still can only get that in SD.
Also why isn't the extra channels you get through the discovery app like TLC,ID and Science integrated into the guide.
Thanks

Are these the Freeview channels. I don't believe all channels are broadcast in HD so if not the add-on makes no difference. IAM sure someone with the TV package will be along to help.
Thanks

Thanks for your response.
No it's a subscription channel you get through the package. They have the option of discovery hd. When I choose the channel it tells me to phone to get it put on. But the SD version is working

@johnbhoy1979 The HD version of the Discovery channel is not an option anymore and can only be accessed as part of the full works package I believe.
Something to do with the HD boost no longer applicable on the entertainment and big entertainment packages, only the Now HD boost is available for the Now channels only.
The other premium discovery channels were not included in the deal, it seems.
All channels are available in HD through the app though.

Hi
Thank you for the information. Disappointed with that.

Yes it's disappointing why they didn't include the other entertainment channels and didn't scrap the SD channel when the HD boost was cancelled.

Actually@Weerab2024 the real mystery is why they included Discovery (the channel) in the flexible Entertainment TV pack..
This occured when WBD and BT entered their Joint Venture to combine their UK Sports rights - effectively the content broadcast by Bt Sport (subsequently rebranded TNT Sports) and EuroSport to the UK audience. So from that point it was logical for the BT/TNT Sport and Eurosport channels to be in Sport packages together., The Discovery Entertainment content has always been owned by WBD alone - ie not part of the Joint Venture. Therefore any arrangement for carriage of any of those channels on EETV would be subject to a seperate carriage agreement. Clerarly they came to some agreement for the Discovery channel alone , terms/duration unknown.

@zulu17 exactly so when they did a carriage deal for one of the channels why not include all the premium entertainment channels and CNN?
