I previously had a Discovery +account which I allowed to lapse due commencing my EE tv package
i have been trying to rejoin using my EE package but am unable to do so as Discovery + still recognises my previous account and now wants me to pay for premium access

Was your previous discovery+ subscription cancelled?
Was it part of an EE or BT contract?
Have you tried to activate discovery+ in the EE app? You just need to go to Manage, TV and Sport then click on the Start Activation button below discovery+.
