I recently bought a new Panasonic TV. I’ve been trying without success to setup the EE TV (Pro) remote to control the TV.
Specifically, volume and source control are not working on the EE TV remote. Power on works (i.e. the TV turns on when the EE box is turned on) but power off doesn’t work (the EE box turns off but the TV doesn’t).
The remote worked with my previous TV (an old Samsung). I’ve got the HDMI cable plugged into the port marked ARC and I’ve tried changing the cable too. I followed the suggestions on the below link, also without success.
Can anyone help please?

I had the same problem. There is no solution other than to follow the advice in the thread you tagged. Get £10 BT remote from a well known online shop. Turn on with one press and turn off with two one for box and one for tv
Keep the remote for the tv handy as source selection will not work from your new bt remote

Your remote is probably still paired with the Samsung TV. Try resetting it before pairing it with your Panasonic TV.

Thanks @Dephead2004 would the old BT remote work the volume too? The remote will now turn on the TV but won’t turn it off and crucially the volume control doesn’t work. That’s the main problem now IMO.

Thanks @Jones01 but the Home + 7 didn’t appear to do anything 🙄 Is there anything else I can try to pair the TV and remote?

Yes it does. Imho it odd a superior product but does require line of sight as it is IR not Bluetooth. You also get a stop button!

You did do the Home + 9 to unpair the remote from whatever it was paired with, before doing the Home + 7 to pair the remote while both Box Pro and TV were turned on?
In general, I see no merit in the Set Top Box option under Settings/Remote on the Box Pro; volume doesn’t work if you have surround on, so you might as well set this to TV.
The key thing then is does it control the TV volume? If it does, it ought to control On/Off as well, though this may be a short press/long press thing for Off on the TV.
CEC (VieraLink or some other proprietary name) can get in the way of what you are seeing as regards On/Off, which is why I ask above about getting volume control.
In general, the (non-configurable) CEC on the Box Pro will turn on the TV when you turn on the Box Pro. But it won’t turn off the TV when you turn off the Box Pro.
If this is the behaviour you see, and you think it’s something to do with how the remote is configured, the confusion will go from there. (You can check this behaviour by turning the Box Pro on and off via the button on the box, and seeing what the TV does),

We had one of these in another room, so I’m using that not and it works fine. Thanks!

You shouldn't need to use a different remote to control your TV. A Pro remote works correctly with our Panasonic TV.
As @Midnight_Voice said, the key issue is to reset your remote by pressing Home + 9 until the EE icon flashes purple 3 times before pairing it with your TV by pressing Home + 7.
The information given in the thread that you quote is incorrect. The Pro remote doesn't control the TV using HDMI. It uses infrared. During pairing the box uses the HDMI connection to identify the TV. Its infared codes are passed to the remote which stores them and uses them to control the TV.
