Is the Apple TV app on the EE TV Box Pro, the full version of Apple TV, including access to movies/TV shows purchased in iTunes, or it is just Apple TV+?
I’ve currently got Sky Q which only has Apple TV+ but I would like one box which gives me access to all TV services. I am looking at either the EE TV Box Pro or the EE Apple TV. The EE TV Box Pro looks promising but for the possible lack of Apple TV. I like the idea of the EE Apple TV but the lack of recording or even pausing live TV puts me off that.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

It's just the Apple TV+ app on the TV Box Pro and TV Box Mini I'm afraid - no access to your purchases.
The EE TV app on the Apple TV doesn't allow recording, but it does provide links to all the catch up players from the TV Guide, so it makes it very easy to watch programmes on catch up.
Pausing live TV is definitely high on our list of priorities - it's a very common request already.

Thanks for replying so quickly. It seems I’ve got a while longer before I get a single box TV service. In the meantime I will keep on eye on developments on the EE Apple TV.

Can you tell me if I am able to record using my apple+ ee tv box that has just been sent to me - I cant seem to find this and is frustrating as has taken us 3 hours to get it set up

@NB001 if you got the Apple TV you can not record on it it’s just a streaming box. The only benefit of the Apple TV box is you can install all streaming apps that are not on the EE tv boxes. Disney+ comes to mind straight the way.

Hi Darren,
Do you know if there’s a timeline on play/pause yet? Have just switched to EETV but hadn’t realised this about the ATV. If it’s soon I’m minded to stick with, if not might have to reconsider.
thanks!

Assuming all goes well ... it should come in the next few days.

This is great news 🙌.

Hi Darren,
You don’t have any further updates do you? I’m still in our 14 day cooling off period with the TV currently and without play/pause/rewind of live it’s becoming a bit like being in the 90s!
thanks

Unfortunately some of our providers won't allow us to offer it (due to their content rights now allowing it), so a small update is being made to show a message when you try to pause/rewind an affected channel.
I'm told it'll be another 7-10 days. It definitely is coming though.
