Hi
Have just cancelled sky today I then spoke to two different EE people on phone today who told me I could not have additional tv boxes as our speed of line wouldn’t support this. They would only supply one main tv box. We currently have sky multi room and have no probs. It doesn’t make sense. Can anyone explain why?
cheers

“EE TV Multi-room offer:
Offer available to customers who have a 24 month EE Broadband plan and 24 month EE TV plan. Offer allows customers to add up to 2 extra boxes to their EE TV plan at no extra cost. Extra boxes are for Box Mini only. Broadband must have 30Mbps minimum line speed and 50Mbps for UHD content. More than one extra box requires 40Mbps and 59Mbps for UHD content. Offer to be redeemed in store, online or via contact centre. If you cancel your EE TV contract the offer will end. Service is for your personal, non-commercial use only and may not be suitable for under 18s. This offer is subject to availability and can be withdrawn at any point.
So what network speed are you going for with EE ?

EE TV is the only TV service in the UK to use multicast - a method of guaranteeing fixed video quality across the internet. If your internet speed isn't good enough, it's guaranteed that the service will not work.
Other providers of video over internet use ABR - this causes the video to drop to a lower quality if the connection speed can't keep up.
Thus we don't allow orders for a service that we know you won't be able to fully enjoy.

But surely your reply only applies if all the boxes are being used at the same time, we have them for convenience. I have just transferred from SKY to EE and am waiting to see whether this will work in my house and my situation where i have historically had 3 SKY mini boxes and at this time am considering my options of using the 14 day cancellation period.
I am happy to purchase an additional EE box and did so through SKY

@Peter2612 the decision has been made to not offer a product that may end up causing more trouble than good. Allowing customers to take more boxes than their broadband can concurrently support puts a huge risk on our call centres and support teams in taking calls from customers who experience issues.
EE TV Boxes are not for sale - they're only loaned as part of an EE TV contract.
