With the proposed £11 being debated by parliament to be used to fund the BBC. This is something EE needs to take a stand on.
I have made the choice long time ago not to have a TV. This is because i refuse to pay for a licence so no TV for me.
With this being debated in parliament to be used to fund the BBC as they are not getting what they need to operate, oh well not my problem F the BBC.
I am stating here now, EE needs to stand and block this the BBC needs to be turned in to a subscription service so them who do like that type of garbage pay it.
I REFUSE TO PAY FOR IT.
when parliament have done there bit and this then appears on my bills as it will be on MULTIPLE bills. i will treat it as end of contract.
Protect your customers EE. block this.

They have kicked around this idea before in the past , there are a lot of other proposals one of them was putting it into utility bills . nothing is set in stone or being seriously debated its all just think tank ideas at this point.
Problem is if they did say do this , its a Government policy in law EE cant just say "Nahh im not doing it" its the law they have to abide by it or it will be like the online safety act they will have OFCOM fining them millions.
It sucks i know but it is what it is EE cant refuse to abide by law they have to abide by the law however crappy it is to be able to operate.

@Powerdemon You don’t seem to understand that your mobile phone has nothing to do with this. You aren’t going to get billed for any TV service on your mobile phone bill.

To be fair @Chris_B , check which forum this post is in..... Clue: Home Services > TV.

@Kamiashi Well, think about it, what about all the people who get their TV licence for free, due to being on pension credit or blind etc, that would seem very unfair to then have to pay a subscription when on low income, what are they going to do then?
For plenty it is one of the ways to help against loneliness etc.

@ee_user14 I was answering the comment of
“Yeah if that happens it will be bye bye to mobile phones for me”
it’s nothing to do with mobile phones, it’s about broadband so bye bye mobiles for something that has nothing to do with mobile phones and not being charged for something that “could” be applied to a broadband tariff is very relevant to that statement of Bye bye mobiles.
Perhaps reading it again and seeing how ridiculous that comment is might help.

@ee_user14 Please elaborate more on how a mobile phone has anything to do with this proposal of a £11 charge on broadband. If someone wants to get rid of a mobile phone because of a proposed change for broadband that’s fine but pointing out it has nothing to do with a mobile phone is the point of my reply and that seems to eluded you, not once but twice.

Firstly i did not reply to this as after making the post i i went out and did not want to post a reply under the influence of drink.
This is NOT the mobile area, this was in regard on the HOME Broadband. This was to try and get EE onside to block this government policy as it will effect a lot of customers.
EE can opt to withdraw services they offer to the government that we are not meant to know about, can't go in to this here or ill end up in serious trouble. for knowing things i'm not meant to, but the services they offer have the power to prevent this.
To not pay or use the BBC services is a choice not a law and adding this is over stepping boundrys. i pay my EE not the government, my contract is with myself and EE not the government.
EE has their hands pushed then its a dictatorship.
EE time to stand up protect your customers even, if you have to partner up with the other internet service companies in the UK to block this.
