scam call from 07878751461

i have just had a call from 07878751461 from someone saying my phone was going to be cut off but they would send me a new sim as EE was moving all numbers from 4g to 5g and then he started asking me for details like m email. i told him i was not convinced he was from ee and and that I  was going to hang up and  call ee  them directly and ask about this and then he hungup. clearly a scam !!!

This isn't a number we would normally call from, so you've definitely made the right call in not giving them any of your details.

Report the Call with the Number to 7726 then block the number.

I had the same thing happen last night. The number in my case was 02045783174. 
they would send me a new SIM  & it wouldn’t cost me. 
I suppose the phone equivalent of  getting people to give them access to their computer by downloading software. 
I hung up & have blocked the number.
