Suspicious text

Hi!

Today I received this message from “249”.

“Hello from EE. We'd love to get your feedback on your device software. We're sending you a short survey, all texts are FREE! To opt-out, please reply with STOP.“

I’ve never known EE to check if I’ve updated my phone? So I’m unsure if this is legitimate or not. Has anyone else had similar?

249 is a shortcode that EE use for surveys, normally after you speak to CS.

I don't see what a scammer would have to gain by you answering questions like this. Their usual modus operandi is to phish (spelling intentional) for personal details or ask you to "click here to..." confirm, update or other somesuch.
