This has just started appearing on my EE app when I log in. I have not clicked on any link. My DD are in place and bill is paid. Is this a new scam ? And how do I get rid of it ?

@Grantie73 : Does it have a link in it that it tells you to click? Don't go there but what was the link?

Hey there, @Grantie73

It is extremely unlikely bordering on impossible for a scammer to infiltrate your EE app and alter the content displayed, especially on an iPhone.

If you head over to the browser version of your account from a different device, do you see the same error message?

Alternatively if you give our team a call, they can check the status of your payments right away and confirm if this message is correct.

Peter

Thank you. No outstanding payments due. Only just come over to EE and first bill paid all ok.
No idea where this has come from , very very strange

Thanks @Grantie73.

I would very strongly recommend getting this double checked by our team so you can be absolutely sure.

Normally payment scams would be in the form of a text or email; in 10 years of working for EE I have never known scammers be able to influence or amend what is displayed in our dedicated app, so I'm leaning towards thinking the outstanding amount is genuine.

There could be a couple of genuine reasons your account has seen extra charges after a bill has been paid, and if you get in touch they'll be able to take a closer look.

Peter

Checked the web version. First bill paid via DD. Nothing would up to £50. Have checked everything on web version and app however will call just to clarify

Thanks @Grantie73

Please keep us posted here 😊

All sorted . I just spoke to EE. They said if I was to make calls to a number abroad it’s a £50 deposit. This should have been clarified at purchase point needless to say it’s not something I need.
Thank you
