Hi, I received a text this morning apparently from EE offering me to be entered into a Christmas giveaway, I just had to click a link & opt in. It seems legit, text has EE logos, looks like other marketing texts I’ve received from EE, I tried googling it but found no-one talking about this so that made me wary that it might be a scam. The link leads to an eoi . ee. co.uk page where it asked for me to enter my phone number, I haven’t done so as just wanted to check whether this was a legit EE thing or not, any confirmation one way or another would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hi @MattD22.
Thanks for coming to the community to let us know about this.
You are spot on, it is definitely not a message from EE. We'd never ask for details like this by text.
If you forward the message to 7726, it will report it as a spam message, then I'd recommend blocking the number and deleting the message.

@MattD22 : It's obviously a scam! The link in it is not even to EE (domain ee.co.uk). There are many of these going the rounds. EE would never send you a msg asking you to click on a link in order to access your a/c.

Hi - I received the same text and it directs to a link on the website but then there is nothing about a giveaway just asking you to update your details?

Hey there @Ajack!
Thanks for taking the time to highlight this 😊
Could you possibly send over a screenshot of the exact message you received here?
I'd love to get this double checked!
