I was called by this number too. Offering upgrades and such, but I couldn't make out as there was a lot of noise in the background. I am sure it is a fake. Tried ringing but was a fake number.
This number isn't on our list of approved partners. Could you send a text message to 7726 please, with the number that called you? It's a free message and goes through to a team who investigate these types of calls.
Sent, and thought it was fake, one, my phone said the number came from London, and it is my understanding EE is based in Hatfield. Second, I would hope a major communication company would be more professional
