Hi
ive been the victim of identity theft, someone took a contact out in my name and had goods worth thousands sent to an address I have never lived at. I have reported it to Action Fraud and filed it with a EE agent: I just got the outcome by email - The Fraud team have declared it as not fraud and the Credit reference team have told me I have to pay. I have been given no reasons as to why on earth they would decide that this is not fraud.
How does this happen, how is someone allowed to steal my details, and take out a contract for over £2400 to a random address that does not match the electoral role.
Has anyone got any pointers for taking legal action against EE? I would rather spend my money on solicitors fees than pay for a fraudsters account.

I'm very sorry to hear of your situation. I've sent you a private message to get some information from you. Could you take a look and get back to me please?

You need to seek legal advice and I would suggest making a subject access request.
Reporting this to the police was the correct course of action.
You also need to:
Lastly don't use unfamiliar or free WiFi WiFi unless your have a VPN active. That includes work or local coffee shops, pub etc...
Good luck.
Thanks
