Hi
Has anyone else noticed issues with there phone since installing the EE cyber security app?
I thought it was my broadband being slow at first, my husband, daughter and I, kept noticing internet Searches were slow, pages taking ages to load, but when I do a speed check it shows the download speed is as we'd expect.
Next, certain apps wouldn't load, for example, I have NYT app on my phone for wordle, usually it just opens and I can go in and complete wordle in seconds, but lately it starts to open, but then doesn't continue and doesn't open up the games, it seems to start, but just freezes. I assumed it was an issue with the app, but if I close the app and re-open I get the same issue, i have even uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it doesn't fix it. But if I shutdown and restart my phone it is fixed.
Next issue I found was with OneDrive. When I open the photos folder I briefly, for half a second, see all of my photos as icons on the screen, then they disappear and the icons turn grey, showing that there are files there, but I can't see what they are. When I click one to open it , it just says loading, but never opens. Photos taken on my phone show, but not the ones that are stored in the cloud. This doesn't happen when I use OneDrive on my other phone (which doesn't have the EE cyber security on it) or when I use OneDrive on laptop.
My phone is Google pixel 8, it is only 4 months old and like I said when I do a WiFi connection speed check it has good WiFi connection speed and when I turn off WiFi it also has good mobile network connection and unlimited data. It has 256gb storage with only 30% used.
Anyone else find same problems and any suggestions?
Jo

Remove the app and see if everything works ok?
What benefits is the EE app giving you that you need?

Hi chistery EE Cyber Security helps to protect you as follows (taken from EE details)
If I uninstall now I'll have to get alternative cyber security set up, just to enable me to test that it is the issue. Id rather hear if other people experienced the same issue first.

Removing the app for a few days and seeing if that's the issue is not going to cause any issues as long as you follow the usual advice like don't click on unknown links, don't download apps from outside the play store, etc. The Pixels are probably some of the most up to date and secure Androids out there, and come with a lot of this protection built in, for free.
