I have EE Scam Guard and activated my 3 months cyber security duo.

im not sure is actually doing anything. Been browsing websites as normal the protection report says 0 safe and 0 malicious sites. Does anyone know if it can be tested to see if it’s working ok?

it’s not very clear how it actually works and what it’s actually protecting

Hi there @fjnf_shjh

Thanks for coming back to the community.

Did you receive a text to activate the Dark Web Monitoring service and complete the activation?

Full details can be found in our Scam Guard | Protection from Scams & Fraud, Help page and the EE Cyber Security T&Cs – October 2023.

Don’t see how that’s relevant I’m not asking about dark web monitoring at all and totally unrelated to my question

@fjnf_shjh  The 0 safe is about using WiFi networks not cellular and the 0 miscellaneous websites just means you’ve not been to a website for that to trigger miscellaneous website warning in the app.

Do you have in Internet security web safe enabled?  And do you have the VPN enabled your device ?

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Really don think it’s just about WiFi networks. That is the network scanning for any compromised WiFi. If there is a counter that says number of Safe or Mallicious websites it implies everything scanned. It can either be safe or not surely?

Yes the VPN is on hence why im asking. Wouldn’t be asking if the product wasn’t installed correctly. If 0 safe websites is only about websites visited on WiFi it is a next to pointless product given you can visit a malicious website on cellular as well.

I understand that 0 for malicious would be relevant, but surely the entire point is its scanning everything. So 0 and 0 when im visiting both on WiFi and cellular implies it’s not working. Again with the VPN working.

Hi @fjnf_shjh

Thanks for coming back to us.

Sorry for any confusion, I was checking if the text had been received and set up as, the terms for Scam Guard do advise 'We will send you a link via text and the account holder will need to activate the Dark Web Monitoring service. The charge for Scam Guard will start as soon as we accept your request. We therefore advise you to complete activation of the Dark Web Monitoring service immediately'

If you call our tech guides on 0800 956 6000 they will make sure everything is working as it should for you.

Thanks 🙂

Leanne.

What is meant by Dark Web.  The term is used a lot but what is it?  How  do I find it and monitor it? If I have dark web monitoring will this prevent access to any sites that I currently use?

Welcome to the EE Community, @Spireman 🙂

The dark web is the name given to a part of the internet that is hidden from standard search engines. It's often used by criminals to share stolen information.

If you're using EE Cyber Security, we'll let you know if any of your personal info is found on the dark web so you can act fast.

James

Thanks. Can you tell me what the Norton Cyber security costs after the free trial?
