30% off bills possible scam call?

Greg118
Visitor

Just received a call from a call center, sounded like a busy call center in India.  The caller offered 30% off my bills, they wanted to know why security ID which I refused to give.

The callers No. was 07776 056867.

Was this a scam?

Hi @Greg118

Welcome to the community.

You've done the right thing in refusing to give any information, as that is not a number we'd call from, and as nice as it would be, we'd not just call to offer a discount.

You can report a scam call by completing our Report a scam or nuisance call form and there is more handy information on the How to avoid scams page.

If you do get any further calls, you can see if it is a genuine call on the Phone numbers EE partners will call from page.

It's probably a scam as the call came from a mobile no. & not a landline that EE usually uses.
