hi, i’ve just ordered a phone, then realised i got it with a sim. i already have a sim with ee. the new one is a new phone number, not my own.

can i give it to my dad for his phone? also an ee handset. he wants to port his number to ee, so i wanted to know if the new sim is connected to the ordered phone or if he can use it for himself on his own phone.

thank you in advance!!

@cobies  Was this a contract or PAYG ?
if it’s a PAYG you can do what you want.  If it’s a contract then you should have upgraded as you now have 2 contracts and you need to call customer support and tell what you’ve done.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

it’s a contract! was purely curious if the insurance (full apple care) would be void if he has the sim and i have the handset.

@cobies  you now have two contracts you should’ve upgraded.
you need to call customer Support and tell them what you’ve done.  If you want to give your dad the new sim and pay for that contract that’s ok then and your dad can still use it and port his number to EE but I’ll be a 2 line contract on your account.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

sorry, i worded my original post wrong. my dad ordered the phone for me and wants to keep the sim. he will be paying from his own account. can he keep the sim and give me the phone with no problems? sorry for being a pain, thank you for your quick reply!

Yes, he can give the phone to you to use with your own SIM & he can keep to SIM to use in his own phone.

@cobies

Just to add to the answers you've been given so far, confirming you can pop your existing EE SIM into the new phone- your dad will be able to transfer his number over to EE on the new SIM which came with the phone.

To do this just text PORT to the number 150 from the new EE sim.
This will take him through 2 steps to submit his PAC Code and transfer his number.

You can find more information at Transfer your number to EE

Hope this helps!
