eSim hole that I'm in

I have a Google Pixel 6 phone, a number that I've had forever and all is well.  However, just got a new Acer Chromebook and it has the ability to either set up an eSim or insert a sim card.  Could someone explain to me like I'm a toddler, how I get either an eSim or a physical sim that is on the same number as my mobile and how the hell I set it all up?

I seem to have gone round and round in circles looking at various questions in the community, my Chromebook is asking me to set up a new network for an eSim and the only way to do this is to put an activation code in (which I don't have) or scan a QR code, again which I don't have.  Would it be easier just to insert a sim?  And if yes, how do I get a duplicate sim card?

Thank you 🙂

You can't have 2 SIMs on the same no.

It is always easier to use a physical SIM.

An embedded version of a physical SIM that is built into your smartphone and cannot be removed. It's 1 or the other for a particular mobile no.
