Urgent Request for PAC Release OR Change of Ownership

I am writing to bring to your attention a serious issue concerning my phone number, which was transferred from my previous provider, Three, to EE without my consent. My husband obtained my PAC and transferred the number to his account, signing a contract on my behalf, entirely without my knowledge. His intent behind this action was to breach my privacy and exert control over my phone calls.

I have already taken this matter to the authorities and filed a formal complaint with the police, under reference CAD 2XXX/06Sep24 (Already sent via email). Since the switch was made only yesterday and is still within the 14-day cooling-off period, I request that you release my PAC without any charges or penalties, or alternatively, change the ownership of the number to my name at the earliest possible date.

I reached out to your customer service via 150 and was informed that the earliest date for a resolution would be December 3. This is entirely unacceptable, as it would mean that I remain subject to his coercive control for the next three months. This situation represents a breach of my personal rights, and I urge you to act swiftly to prevent further harm.

I trust that you will treat this matter with the urgency it requires and assist me in regaining control of my phone number as soon as possible.

Hello @rdb_2024 ,

Welcome to the community,

Unfortunately, this is not customer service and we have no account access. You can, however launch a complaint by using the the complaints form or will have to speak to customer service again, as we cannot do anything from here or give you a PAC code.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

@rdb_2024  First off all you need to be asking 3 why they gave a PAC to a someone other than the account holder.   If this was done via text from your device I can see how this would happen but if it wasn’t via text then 3 have allowed fraud to be committed.

As said you need to speak with customer services about this.   Both 3 and EE.

You also not liable for that EE contract as it’s in your husband’s name on his account.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Good afternoon @rdb_2024

Welcome to the EE Community, and thanks for taking the time to bring this to our attention too.

I can't begin to imagine how worrying this must be, and whilst we don't have account access to rectify this via the Community, I definitely want to make sure you're best equipped to get this resolved.

If the account with Three was in your name, and your husband didn't have permission to request a PAC, this is viewed as an unauthorised number port and technically comes under fraud.

I would strongly recommend contacting Three so they can raise an investigation on this, and their team would then work alongside us to help get the number brought back over.

Peter

As he transferred your no. to his EE a/c, the EE contract will be in his name, not on your behalf.

You should be 1st interrogating 3 as to how they released your PAC to someone other than the the a/c holder. OTOH if he was the a/c holder of the 3 contract & was just letting you use that no. then he can do what he likes with it & no fraud has been committed.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

The 3 account was in my name, my contract.

thanks

Yes this happened through text from my phone behind my back. While I'm not liable for the contract and account he has with EE, I've been using that number for 11 years, all of which was with 3. I don't want to lose my number.

@rdb_2024  3 didn’t know it wasn’t you requesting the PAC as it was via text from your device.   all legal.
Your husband though has committed fraud and is accountable for his actions.  It wasn’t his account to be requesting the PAC to have a change of network never mind have it put on his account.

Only the account holder can use the cooling off period as the contract as it’s now on their account in their name.    You need to contact 3 about this and also inform them you’ve been to the police
