Upgrading phone and PIN, but old phone is dead so cant get unlock code

Hello!  Just received a new Samsung A53 as upgrade to old A3, along with a new SIM.   Problem is when EE send the SIM unlock code to the old phone I cant get it as the old phone screen is illegible. 

 

How else can I get the code?
