Hi guys,
I had my iPhone nicked on Friday, went to ee store started a new phone contract ( I was sim only. ) the guy said I would keep my old number and that would disable the sim in my stolen phone. Also said I would be able to use new phone new sim straight away.
the sim has been in there for 24 hrs now.
there’s no connection to the ee network.
I’ve left it off and switched back on to no avail. I can’t contact ee without a phone and I’m wondering if it needs time to activate or if there’s a signal failure? I’m in Bridgwater at the moment thanks for any advice.

Try doing a manual network search, see if EE is listed - if there's a local outage, it won't show. Also try connecting to a WiFi-hotspot, and if your SIM is activate, WiFi-calling should kick in.
If necessary, you can contact EE-CS on 07953 966150 from any working phone, or +44 800 9566000 from a web-calling app such as Skype.

@Meany1972 Just to check you did do an upgrade? Only with an upgrade you retain the number a new contract gets a new number and your still libel for the old sim only contract.

Because my phone was stolen.
they ported all of my old sim details on to a new sim card
and they said it should work straight away. It’s basically a replacement sim card
just in a new phone.
