Sim 1 not allowed

have a Google Pixel 7a through my EE phone contract. It was working completely normally until today, when it suddenly lost connection to the network and popped up a message saying "SIM 1 not allowed".

I've tried restarting the phone, removing and re-inserting the sim card, and nothing is working. I can't call EE because I've got no phone service!

Please help, I need my phone for work so this is very stressful.

Is your SIM card in good condition and free of damage?

Have you tried cleaning it with a soft cloth?

Pretty much the same issue for me and my Pixel 6 😞
I am on hold to 150 trying to log a ticket. Its miserable.

Finally got through to EE and they are sending me a new sim card, but said this might not help as it could be a problem with the phone rather than the sim. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
