I am visiting the UK for 2 months and would prefer to purchase a UK SIM instead of keeping my Australian number.
What is the best way to sign up for a SIM-only plan. Is it as simple as turning up to an EE store or do I need to make an appointment. Also, are there EE stores at airports so I can buy one as soon as I land.

You could buy a PAYG SIM . They are also sold at airport vending machines & kiosks. With no UK credit history you would not be able to get a contract.
