Resurrecting old number

halfaguava

Hello,

I had an Orange(!) then EE mobile number for over a decade, then stupidly gave it up when my company gave me a work phone 8 years ago, I'm looking to get the number back.

Today I rang my old number and it doesn't connect anywhere so I tried calling EE and incredibly they still had it noted against my name but said my number had been returned to the EE 'pool' to be randomly issued to someone new (amazing it's still in the pool after 8 years of inactivity). Unfortunately when I asked if I could get it back they said no you can't. I tried to ask why and the response was 'you just can't'.

I then spoke to my current work provider, Vodafone - and they said yeah that's easy to retrieve. Also looking on vodafone forums lots of people are getting their numbers back just by asking moderators who seem happy to help. Is there anyone here that can advise me how to do what vodafone can do but from EE?

Thanks

Charlie

Hi @halfaguava,

Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂

Sorry, it isn't possible to reassign a number back to you once it has been recycled.

As you said you gave it up. That's it! You can't get it back.
