Totally hear your pain!  Am trying to perform the same maneuvre in a busy work day, and after 25 years with EE I'm told I have to wait over 20 minutes to get assistance.  No option to request a call back.  Really thinking of switching provider!

What's the manouvre you're trying to perform and having difficulties with?

The ease of changing phone is a shortcoming of any eSIM compared with a physical SIM.

There should be an option on the CS-IVR to queue "virtually" with a callback option. I assume your comment of changing networks is borne out of frustration, but be sure to comprehensively survey any potential new network for coverage & services in all the areas you frequent.
