Purchased a new iPhone and sim not working

Hi , I purchased a iPhone 14+ on Friday and have not been able to make calls or receive text apart from via WiFi.

Is there anything I need to do that I’ve not done. Everything has transferred over from my XR but not the phone signal.

thank you

Was this an upgrade? Is there a SIM card (or eSim) working in your previous device that needs to be transferred over?

Thanks for the reply it was a private purchase of the unlocked phone and sim working in my old xr before transferring it to new 14+. Now it doesn’t work any more.

Regards

Hey @AdrianJB

I think I understand.

So SIM card works fine in the XR. You put it in the 14 and it says "No Service" ?

If that's the case, try it again in a different handset and if it does work as in its only the iPhone 14 with the problem, it may be that the phone you've bought has been reported lost or stolen and it's blacklisted.

There are sites where you can check the Apple serial number but that sadly, is a possibility.

Thank you I will do all
Of that. Purchased from music magpie so be very angry if due diligence wasn’t followed

Cheers

Hopefully I'm wrong, it's just because you said the sim works fine in other devices.

At least if you check the IMEI or SERIAL NUMBER, you'll know for sure what you're dealing with.

Good luck 😀
