Problem with keeping my old mobile number

BaggieSean

I've just moved from BT to EE. In my account details, I can see both my old BT number (this number has been removed from my BT account and my PAC expired) as well as my new EE number separately. I've inserted the new EE SIM, which seems to be working. However, I am unable to change the EE mobile number to my old BT number using the Settings option on my phone. I'm now at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

When did your port complete, and are you able to make & receive calls & texts using the correct number?

The mobile number entry that I suspect you're referring to, is purely cosmetic and has no function - it can safely be ignored.

Hi Bristolian,

Thank you very much for your swift reply.

I received an email from BT on 8 December, saying:

We've given your number to your new provider
Hello,
You'll now be able to keep your mobile number (*********53) when you move to your new provider.

However, with my old SIM (using the mobile number (*********53), I can't receive texts, Whatsapp etc.

The new EE SIM seems to be working fine, but with the new mobile number that I don't want.

I have a feeling I'll probably have to phone EE but, last time I tried, there was a long queue.

Thank you.
