Porting Issues

I’ve moved to EE from Vodafone. Put my porting code in and I was told this will be done by 11:59pm on 31/10.
I received a text at 14:45 on 31/10 saying porting is complete and to restart my phone. So I’ve done this.

The problem I have now is:

- Nobody can call me. If they call my ported number it goes to Vodafone voicemail. If they call my EE number that I was assigned before porting it says the number isn’t in use.

- If I call someone, it comes up with the number I’ve ported from Vodafone to EE.

- Sending and receiving texts all come from the number that EE assigned me before porting my number over.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated. I use an iPhone and I’ve been into settings to change my phone number but it still just stays with the EE number assigned to me before I ported my number over.
Ive put my Vodafone SIM card into an old phone and it’s still active so how can porting be completed?

@APats22  you cannot change your number in settings>phone. You need to turn off iMessage and FaceTime then restart your device now go and check to make sure your number is correct in settings>phone and if it is you can re-enable iMessage and FaceTime.

Your device/iMessage/FaceTime latches on to the original sim number and doesn’t pick up the porting in number until you turn off iMessage/FaceTime and reboot.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Thank you for your help. I deactivated iMessage and FaceTime on my old and new phone and left it for 1-2 hours. When I turned it back on for my new phone it picked up the ported number.

I’ve now got another weird problem. My Vodafone SIM is still active, even though everything’s ported over. Texts come to both my EE and Vodafone SIM and I can make calls from my Vodafone SIM. Any ideas please?

Hi @APats22

Thanks for coming here 🙂

Is the old phone with the Vodaphone SIM card in an iPhone?

Leanne.

Hi Leanne,

It is an iPhone. I’ve turned all iMessage and stuff off on it.
Only EE calls come to my EE phone. All other calls go to my Vodafone phone.

Thanks @APats22

Have you signed out of iCloud on the iPhone?

If so, please call us on 150 and the team will check the number transfer has completed for you.

Leanne 🙂

I’ve signed out and it’s still connected to Vodafone and nobody other than EE numbers can call me.

I’ll call 150.

Been advised to give it another 24 hours by EE.
I contacted Vodafone and they said the porting is showing ‘pending’ on their system and it’s not complete on EEs behalf.

4 days on from EE saying the porting is complete and it’s not. Paying 2 phone bills because of this as well. No offer to knock anything off my EE bill to compensate due to issues on their behalf.

Not a good start with EE.
