On the 9th October 2025 my number ported across from o2 to ee with no problems as far as I'm aware. My number that was ported works fine when I call but when it comes to text messages it still shows the temporary one I received with the phone. Should just leave it and hopefully it sorts itself out as they did say the port could take up until 6pm this evening and check again tomorrow.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

@Emmaj_36
Please pop into the settings and switch off RCS / Chat messaging and test.
If you're using Samsung messaging app- press the 3-dots at the top > settings > chat settings > switch off Chat Features.
For Google messaging app- open the Google Messages app > tap your profile picture or initial > Messages settings > tap RCS chats > change Turn on RCS chats switch off
If this shows the correct number on outgoing messages it means the RCS Chat server has not yet updated with your correct number.

I'm sorry to hear about the issue you're having with your number updating. Can I check what kind of phone you're using?
