PAC

I bought a new phone from EE and put the PAC code in from Smarty when purchasing online to maintain my old number. The order confirmation email says that I just needed to put the new EE sim into my new phone and it would transfer the number and close my account with Smarty. This was at the weekend and so this is the second working day. So if I have interpreted correctly, it should transfer by the end of today.

I just wondered if I was correct in thinking that I just need to put the SIM in and the rest will be automatic given the above. Or are there any other steps required?

Hello @Rob235 .

Welcome to the community,

Transfers are not done at the weekend, so I would just put the SIM card in your phone, but you can also wait until Smarty has closed your account, if you have two phones, you can keep the smarty in your old phone and the EE sim in your new phone and will be able to see when the change is going on. You may also need to reboot the phone with the EE SIM card in  as well, no other steps need to be taken.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

Thanks for your reply, today was the third working day and the number hadn't been transferred. I spoke to customer services and there was no port request in place, they have put one in for me now.

I would advise anyone else in the same position not to assume it will happen automatically and to contact customer services once you insert the SIM.
