Old number transfering

I ordered an ee sim card and done the pac code to transfer my old number how long before it transfers or do I have to wait for the sim card to come first and activate that then it transfers I don't know

Thanks for coming to the community. 

Once you have the SIM card and activate following the SIM instructions if this is required, the number transfer will be set up for you.
